Set along Maine's rocky coast is the century-old summer village of Ocean Point — one of the most beautiful and unspoiled places on the Eastern Seaboard. With its classic coastal cottages scattered along the rocky coast, people of all ages enjoy walking, biking or driving the scenic loop around Ocean Point. Enjoy gorgeous ocean views, the smell of fragrant pine, tranquil breezes and unforgettable sunsets.

Water Activities

Grimes Cove Beach

Walk to a lovely beach to swim, sunbathe or beach comb for seaglass, shells and rocks.

Ocean Point Community Dock

Only a few steps away from the public dock where you can jump in for a swim, enjoy time using the Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) or throw your line in to enjoy fishing.

Fishing Charters

Contact Mainetain Charters to book a private charter to catch the famous Maine stripers, or to just enjoy a tour of the surrounding islands and lighthouses. The boat will pick your group up at the local Ocean Point community dock just across the street.

The Ocean Point Loop

The signature experience. Walk, bike, or drive the scenic loop past coastal cottages and granite ledges, with waves crashing along the rocky shore. Look out to sea to spot three postcard-worthy lighthouses guiding boats into Boothbay Harbor.

Ocean Point Walk

Climb along the rocks to enjoy the spectacular ocean views of waves crashing. A favorite spot for watching the sunset.

Ocean Point Playground

The community center, known as The Casino, is a short walk from the house and offers games, tennis courts, a playground, a basketball hoop and community events like Sunday parent-child softball games.

Tennis and Pickleball

Offered at the Casino. Tennis courts are clay. Book in advance (contact us for more details).

Wilson Chapel

Just a short stroll down Shore Road. Built in 1917, this charming chapel is a hidden gem on Ocean Point. It hosts occasional concerts and events, and is worth a visit for its beautiful architecture as well as Sunday services during the summer.

Ocean Point Preserve

Enjoy the smell of pine and spruce as you explore this beautiful protected area. As you arrive at the local ponds, keep an eye out for the herons, ospreys and bald eagles that frequently visit.

After exploring the preserve, grab a cup of coffee or buy some fresh-roasted beans at the local self serve micro-roastery run by artist, Brad Betts, and his son Sam. Enjoy their indoor space by listening to an album or have a seat in their garden.
